There is the Sitz im Leben of the historical events recorded in these chapters~the actual situation of the earliest Christian community. Also, there is the Sitz im Leben of the author of Luke-Acts-a situation toward the end of the first century A.D. wherein adherents of Gentile Christianity were struggling to validate their gospel and to establish the integrity of their own existence as a viable community of faith."
